The Red Eye Killer

New York City, 2060… A photographer who goes by the name John Bonny is walking on a wet rubble street. He is mad at himself for forgetting his vibrant purple umbrella, which has an annoying broken metal stent. His head was drooping, his dark dense hair was drenched, and the rain from above lit up the night sky with the bright billboards reflecting off of each individual droplet. Deep puddles were forming on the ground and he could feel his blue duck socks becoming sopping wet through his Oxford shoes. Suddenly he heard a loud screech. What’s going on!? He wondered. He looked up with force but the bright billboards all around temporarily blinded him. All he could see was the infamous New York statue (that was built in 2025) of the great David Marley. A resident of New York who discovered a cure for cancer. Focusing on the broken cobblestones in the statue John regained his eyesight. He looked around and the monorail had people pouring out of it screaming “ITS HIM, HE STRUCK AGAIN.” That could only mean one thing, the red-eye killer returned. For years people were dropping like flies in the street, and nobody knew why. Until the police made a shocking revelation. They went on a 2-mile-long foot chase to catch the murderer but lost him behind an alley. The only thing they caught, was a glimpse of his glowing red eyes. John was flabbergasted, a million thoughts running through his mind but he then saw someone trip on a curb just a few feet in front of him. He rushed over to help the man in the black hoodie. When the man was standing on two feet again he thanked John and walked away. John then decided to take a photo of the chaos. He thought it maybe would win him a prize. He rushed home to try and not be murdered by the red-eye killer. When John got to his blue glass apartment building, he sat on his white couch, petted his dog and looked at his photos. While pressing the almost broken button on his black camera screen to view the photo John almost dropped his camera. The man he helped off the street had red eyes in the picture.
